Mary Yaeko Ebata (nee Mori) was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1924. This interview is about Mary and her family's life in Vancouver and Kelowna before World War II, displacement to Bay Farm in the Slocan Valley, and life post-war in Toronto and Mississauga, Ontario. She discusses her family’s living situation between Japan and Canada before World War II, farm life in Kelowna, housework in Vancouver, living conditions in Bay Farm, and an illustrious sporting career spanning her youth into her seventies. She earned over 300 sporting awards, and in 2005, she became a Hall of Fame member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association.
