Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Announces Leadership Transition
Toronto, ON — May 1, 2026 — The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) today announced that Executive Director Jerrold McGrath is no longer with the organization.
The Board of Directors extends its appreciation to Mr. McGrath for his service and contributions during his tenure.
As the JCCC moves forward, the organization remains firmly committed to its mission of building friendship through culture. For 63 years, the Centre has welcomed people from all backgrounds to build friendships through common interests in Japanese culture and Japanese Canadian heritage. That commitment continues to guide the organization’s work and future direction.
The Board has appointed Jon Nagamatsu, an experienced JCCC board member, as interim Executive Director, as it works to support continuity of leadership and operations, and will share further updates in due course.
The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre remains dedicated to serving its members, partners, and the broader community, and looks ahead to continuing its role as a vibrant cultural hub for generations to come.
