Make and Learn on Ōmisoka
Join us at the JCCC to welcome the New Year with Ōmisoka (大晦日) — Japan’s cherished New Year’s Eve celebration! This is the first time the JCCC will host this special cultural event, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty, warmth, and meaning of Japan’s year-end traditions.
In Japan, Ōmisoka marks the final day of the year — a time for reflection, renewal, and preparation to welcome Oshōgatsu (the New Year). Families gather to clean their homes, share symbolic meals, and take part in rituals that honor the passage of time and the promise of new beginnings.
Enjoy these special workshops at the JCCC as we come together to reflect on the past year and prepare for the one ahead!
