What better way to get rid of the February blahs than by heading to the JCCC for Spring Festival? Spring Festival, or Haru Matsuri, includes Japanese arts and crafts demonstrations, such as ikebana (flower arranging), bunka shishu (embroidery), origami (paper folding) and sumi-e (brush painting). The JCCC's martial artists also demonstrate the techniques of Aikido, Judo, Karate, Iaido, Naginata, Kyudo and Kendo. For entertainment, there is odori (traditional Japanese dancing) by JCCC traditional dance groups Ayame-Kai and Sakura-Kai and traditional Japanese instruments. Moreover, guests entering the Centre will be greeted by an elaborate display of Hina Matsuri dolls.
Date: first weekend in March
